O Nanak, the rainbird cries out, “Pri-o! Pri-o! Beloved! Beloved!” The song-bird is embellished with the Word of the Shabad.
– Guru Granth Sahib p.1107
The melodious and repetitive songs of birds trigger feelings of peace, love and tranquility. Like holy muses, they attract our souls to our Creator with their divine song of loving praise. Who tells them to sing? Who tells them when to fly and migrate in V- formations? The birds sing sweetly all day, cognisant of the omnipresence of the universal spirit sustaining them within and without. They lead by example, showing us the way; to be in continuous remembrance of our beloved.
“Be like the bird that, passing on her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings,
knowing that she hath wings”
– Victor Hugo
